Moscow Exchange to launch short-term options on USD/RUB FX futures

Moscow Exchange is launching options on USD/RUB FX futures with monthly settlement alongside the existing quarterly ones. The new contracts are to be introduced on the Exchange"s Derivatives Market on 19 August.

The contract specifies that one option is on $1,000 of futures. The nearest settlement is in October.

The move was driven by the specifics of FX derivatives. The new contracts will broaden members" choices in rolling out on the expiration date. The introduction is a step forward in developing the options market.
