Moscow Exchange resumes OFZ trading
On March 21, 2022, Moscow Exchange (MOEX) resumes trading on the stock market in domestic sovereign bonds (OFZ).
OFZ trading will be held according to the following rules:
- From 10:00 to 11:00 an opening auction will be held for all OFZ issues (55 issues).
- From 13:00 to 17:00, trading will be held in the main trading mode (based on non-address orders) and in the mode of negotiated trades/traded deals with the CCP.
- There will be a ban on short selling.
During the opening auction, market participants and their clients will be able to submit orders for the purchase and sale of securities. The auction prices will be determined at the end of the period for collecting bids in the last 30 seconds according to an algorithm that provides for the maximum volume of execution of counter bids. Trades in other bonds will be held from 10:00 to 19:00 only in the "Redemption: Address Orders" mode with settlements in rubles.
On March 21, 2022, the remaining markets of Moscow Exchange will operate according to rules similar to the previous business week:
- Trading on the foreign exchange market and the market of precious metals, as well as on the money market will be held from 10:00 to 19:00.
- In the derivatives market from 10:00 to 18:45, currency and commodity instruments, as well as futures and options on the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust and futures on the DomClick real estate index will be available. Trades in instruments of the stock section (stock and index contracts) are carried out only on the basis of targeted orders.
- There will be no trading on the equity market.
Morning and evening trading sessions are not being held on all markets of the Moscow Exchange.
On the derivatives market, the expiration dates of futures and options contracts are postponed if on the day of expiration, the underlying assets of these contracts are not traded on the Moscow Exchange. The date of their execution will be announced later.
