NSD to challenge EU sanctions

On 12 August 2022, the National Settlement Depository (NSD) filed a lawsuit with the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg, seeking to lift the restrictions imposed on the depository.

The purpose of the lawsuit is to prove that the NSD's inclusion in EU sanctions lists was unlawful and unjustified, and that Russian and international investors have suffered as a result.

The EU imposed blocking sanctions on the NSD on 3 June 2022.
