Final settlement prices determined for power futures contracts

On February 01, 2013 futures contracts on the average power price index in the Center hub (ECBM-1.13 and ECPM-1.13), Ural hub (EUBM-1.13 and EUPM-1.13), Western Siberia hub (SWBM-1.13) and Eastern Siberia hub (SEBM-1.13) were settled.

In accordance with the contracts’ specifications the following final settlement prices were calculated:

ECBM-1.13 – 935.83
ECPM-1.13 – 1,138.66 
EUBM-1.13 – 917.58 
EUPM-1.13 – 1,047.51 
SEBM-1.13 – 731.58 
SWBM-1.13 – 728.42 .

The final settlement price is computed in accordance with the contract’s specifications based on the arithmetical mean of all values of the underlying power prices index.

The below positions were settled for the following amounts:

ECBM-1.13 – 1,222 contracts for RUB85.098 million
ECPM-1.13 – 232 contracts for RUB5.840 million
EUBM-1.13 – 284 contracts for RUB19.376 million
EUPM-1.13 – 224 contracts for RUB5.183 million.

During the lifetime of the January power futures 976 trades for a total amount of RUB1,393 million representing 19,315 contracts were executed. Out of this number 1,962 contracts were held until expiry and were settled for a total of RUB115 million.
